EPIC - Endless Possibilities in Christ
EPIC is our Friday night youth ministry program which caters for young people from Year 6 through to Year 12. EPIC is split into EPIC Jnr (Yr6-8) and EPIC Snr (Yr9-12). Each Friday night young people gather to connect with each other, connect with their leaders and, most importantly, to connect with Jesus. The leaders at EPIC are all Christian young adults who are members of St Alban's. They are keen to see youth grow in their understanding of the bible and of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ in our world today.
If you would like more information about EPIC please contact Adam Clark on 9416-1703 or email adamc@stalbanslindfield.com.au.
EPIC Jnr
EPIC Jnr is for young people in years 6-8 at school. It meets from 6pm - 8pm on Fridays (in school term). Each week we have a bunch of crazy games and activities, some food, and we spend some time looking at the bible. The cost each week is $2 for food. Each term EPIC Jnr goes on a outing to soemwhere fun (Ten Pin Bowling, Indoor Climbing, Ice Skating etc) and once a term we join other local church youth groups for 'UNITED.'
EPIC Snr
EPIC Snr is for youth in years 9-12 at school. It meets from 6pm - 9pm Fridays (in school term). EPIC Snr begins with a youth church service (with a bible talk and the excellent EPIC band). Then we have dinner together and the bargain price of $2 (pizza, pasta, burritos or a BBQ). After dinner we split up into small discussion groups (D Groups) to talk about the bible and pray. Somewhere in the night we fit in a fun activity and some indoor soccer. Once a term EPIC Snr goes on an outing somewhere and once a term we join with other local church youth groups for 'UNITED'.

Term 3 2010
This term we are doing a series called "Not of This World", from the book of 1 Peter in the bible. In 1 Peter Christians are described as 'aliens and strangers in the world'. So over 8 weeks we will be looking at what makes Christian people different and we'll look at how Christians are called to live in a society where most people don't share our faith in Jesus. This series will be helpful for those who are already Christians and will be very accessible for those people who are still thinking through the claims of Jesus Christ.
Upcoming events
UNITED - Friday September 3rd @ St Andrews, Roseville (6:30-8:30pm). Cost = $5.
EPIC Getaway 17-19th September @ Galston. Cost $170. Brochures out now!

Adam's blog
I was in Newtown the other day and noticed the remains of a "Jesus - All About Life" sign tied to the fence out the front of a house on busy King St. Someone had obviously taken offence at the sign and ripped it in half. The sight of the vandalised sign didn't surprise me at all. With so many people walking past, at every hour of the day and night, it's a miracle that the sign wasn't vandalised earlier and its amazing that there was still half of it left on the fence! …
I recently read the book titled "Do Hard Things - A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations". It's written by 18 year old twins Alex and Brett Harris, who are Christians from Oregon, USA.
Their basic premise is that the expectations teenagers have of themselves in the western world is far too low, and that this is exacerbated by the low expectations adults and the society at large generally has for teenagers. …
Young people in Years 6-8 at school are well catered for at St. Alban's. On Sunday mornings the Fungus group caters for this age group. On Friday nights EPIC Jnr also caters for this age group. Although these two groups target young people in the same age range, they are very different groups with very different objectives.
The main aim of Fungus is discipleship. …
In recent times the Skidz group (Sunday mornings, school years K-5) has been growing and last term it was bursting at the seams. On some Sunday mornings there were more than 50 children present. The decision was made to split the group into two, from the beginning of this term. So Skidz has now become Light and Salt.
Two of the main advantages of splitting into two groups are:
1. It is now easier for the leaders to prepare and run age appropriate games and teaching material.
2. …
This term, each Friday night at EPIC, we are going to examine selected passages in the New Testament that explain key ideas about Jesus.
The series will be called "All About Jesus."

As we work through this series it's my prayer that we would all gain a deeper understanding of who Jesus is, what he has done, what he is doing and what he one day will do.
Throughout this term we will see how important Jesus is, how powerful he is, how loving he is, …
