Our vision
Building Christian Community
These three words define who we are and what we are trying to do.
- Building: we are committed to taking time and deliberate steps towards building something.
- Community: our goal is to build community. People long to be part of a community and many of us experience a sense of community within our family, school, workplace, or sporting club. God designed us to live in community. We are trying to build a specific type of community: a Christian community.
- Christian: our community is Christian because Jesus Christ is the head and it is he who, through his word, gives it definition. We try and connect people to the living God and to each other. So our community has both a vertical and a horizontal dimension: it involves the spiritual and the earthly.
We seek to Build Christian Community by:
Knowing Christ through the bible
The bible is the foundation stone on which this community is built; it is central to all our meetings. In the bible, Jesus calls us to repent and give our lives to him. By studying the bible and relying on the Holy Spirit to give us understanding of his word, we seek to know Jesus better and to serve him more faithfully.
Growing Like Christ in the fellowship of the church
The Christian life is not to be lived in isolation. When we give our lives to Christ, we are adopted into a community of God's people. Being part of a Church community is not an optional extra for a believer; it is a biblical command. As we meet together, we seek to encourage and support each other in our Christian walk in two main ways: by being a regular member of our Sunday worship and by belonging to a home bible study group.
Going With Christ to the unchurched
We believe that life in Jesus is so wonderful that we want to share it with others. To this end, we are committed to demonstrating the love of Christ in our lives and speaking of his truth with our lips.
