Confirmation

In life there are a number of significant points that are so important that we mark them with a special ceremony and celebration. Confirmation is one such occasion in the life of our Anglican Christian community.

  • Confirmation takes place when people seek to 'confirm' the promises made by their parents when they were baptised as a child. Often those seeking confirmation are young men and women around 15 years of age, although a person of any age can participate in confirmation should they wish to do so.
  • Because confirmation is a public profession of faith - a declaration that you are a Christian and want to follow Jesus for the rest of your life - all candidates undergo preparation classes.  These classes are held on Sunday afternoons (June 21, June 29, July 26, August 2 and August 9) from 4:30 - 5:45pm. It is also expected that candidates for confirmation at St Alban's are regular members of the EPIC youth program or one of our Sunday services.
  • Our Confirmation Service this year will be conducted by Bishop Glenn Davies and held on Sunday 16 August, 2009 at 4:30pm.
