Confirmation

Confirmation is a public profession of faith - a declaration that you are a Christian and want to follow Jesus for the rest of your life. Confirmation takes place when people seek to 'confirm' the promises made by their parents when they were baptised as a child.   Those people wanting to be confirmed who have not yet been baptised are usually baptised in the weeks leading up to the Confirmation service. Often those seeking confirmation are young people in Year 10 or above - although a person of any age can participate in confirmation should they wish to do so.

All candidates undergo preparation classes. These classes are compulsory for those wanting to be confirmed. They will be held on Sunday afternoons (June 19, July 17, July 24, July 31 & August 7) from 5pm - 6:15pm. Classes willl be held in the loft - upstairs in the hall.

It is also expected that candidates for confirmation at St Alban's are regular members of the EPIC youth program or one of our Sunday services.

Our Confirmation Service this year will be conducted by Bishop Glenn Davies and held on Sunday 14th August, 2011 at 6:30pm.
