Confirmation
Confirmation is a public profession of faith - a declaration that you are a Christian and want to follow Jesus for the rest of your life. Confirmation takes place when people seek to 'confirm' the promises made by their parents when they were baptised as a child. Those people wanting to be confirmed who have not yet been baptised are usually baptised in the weeks leading up to the Confirmation service. Often those seeking confirmation are young men and women around 15 years of age, although a person of any age can participate in confirmation should they wish to do so.
All candidates undergo preparation classes. These classes will be held on Sunday afternoons (June 20, June 27, July 18, July 25 and August 1) from 5pm - 6:15pm.
It is also expected that candidates for confirmation at St Alban's are regular members of the EPIC youth program or one of our Sunday services.
Our Confirmation Service this year will be conducted by Bishop Glenn Davies and held on Sunday 8 August, 2010 at 6:30pm.
