Community support

Scripture teaching

One of the great opportunities that St Alban's has in the local community is to provide teachers for the Special Religious Education at Lindfield Public School. The team provides weekly, half-hour lessons across the whole school. Parents choose to send their children to the classes and for many it is the one opportunity they have to hear about Jesus. As each year begins there is always a need for new people to be involved in this valuable program.

Chapel service

Each month St Alban's Senior Minister conducts a chapel service for the folk at Whitehall Retirement Village.

Helping Hands

This action group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 9.30am to 11am. Their purpose is to collect new and good used clothing and other suitable household goods for sale in Anglicare shops and other welfare agencies.

Missionary prayer focus group

This group meets for prayer and fellowship each alternative month (March, May, July, September & November) on the third Saturday at 8.30am at a home in Lindfield - all welcome.

Occasional choir

The Occasional choir comes together for special celebrations at Easter and Christmas and other events such as Choral Evensong. The choir is drawn from all congregations and new members are assured of a warm welcome.

Prayer chain

This group is committed to praying for prayer requests from parishioners as required. New members are most welcome.

Transition group

This is a ministry that seeks to help people who find themselves out of work. It offers encouragement, an objective opinion from people who work in HR, and a listening ear.

Nimble Needles

This group of women of diverse ages and abilities meet to stitch, embroider, knit and patchwork whilst swapping and sampling recipes, solving the Monday mega crossword and drinking tea in a supportive atmosphere. They usually work on their individual projects or on the cross-stitch gifts they make for new babies in the church family. The group meets in the upper hall between 12:30 and 3 p.m. on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of each month during the school term. New members are always welcome.

Church flowers

This committed group of women delight in using their love of flowers to beautify the church so as to enrich our time as we gather together. Flowers are stunningly arranged for each Sunday as well as for special occasions such as Easter, Christmas, Harvest Thanksgiving and Weddings. New recruits are always welcome and you will be thoroughly trained by a very gifted and creative team.
