Baptism

Baptism is a special ceremony in the life of any Christian. It is a symbolic ceremony that highlights a spiritual reality.

People who come to understand that Jesus is both Lord and Saviour share in baptism as a public profession of their new found faith in Christ. This can happen at any age.

In the Anglican Church we also practice infant baptism. When the baptism is for a child, it is expected that the parents of the child who will make significant promises on the child's behalf, will be committed members of the church community.

For those interested in having a baby baptised and who are not currently active members of a church community, we offer a short course which explains the Christian faith and the obligations undertaken in baptism.
