onemillioncan
Over the past term the youth and the leaders at EPIC have been getting behind an organisation called onemiilioncan.
You can check out their website at: OneMillionCan.

The onemiilioncan organisation is a group of Christians seeking to raise 1 million dollars to fund 7 worthy causes around the globe:
* Clean water for villages in Africa
* Freedom for sex slaves in India
* Sustainable villages for Ugandan refugees
* Bibles for people in SE Asia
* Surgeries for children with curable deformities
* Homes for former child soldiers in Uganda
* Radio broadcasts of the bible for people in the Middle East and North Africa
This term the EPIC youth and the leaders have raised an amazing $573 to go to one of these causes!!
To decide which of the 7 causes we would send the money to we held a 'Red Faces' night last Friday (the first place act winning the right to choose which of the 7 causes the money would go to). The quality of the acts was excellent - there was dance, singing, a band, video and comedy. The winners (on 28.5 out of 30) were the Year 9 Guys who expertly performed 'Holiday' by Green Day. After hearing that the cause to free sex slaves in India was not as well funded as the other causes the Year 9 Guys decided that the money we raised should go there.
A big thanks to all who donated money throughout the term and to Steph for all her efforts in planning and organising our involvment in onemillioncan.
